We offer some of the most comprehensive guarantees on the work we undertake here at Britannia Preservation. For example, 20-year guarantees for damp proof courses and timber treatment works and 10-year guarantees for basement tanking and waterproofing. In addition, as full members of the Property Care Association, Britannia Preservation offers GPI insurance backed guarantees.
GPI are the leading providers of insurance backed guarantees in the industry. The GPI guarantee is a genuine insurance policy. You know this because the policy is subject to Insurance Premium Tax (IPT). If you are not paying IPT for a guarantee then it is not a genuine insurance policy.
Our business has been operating for more than 25 years. During this time we have issued many thousands of guarantees and have a long and enviable record of customer service. Sadly, we have seen many damp proofing and timber treatment specialists disappear after a few years of trading, leaving their clients with worthless guarantees and substandard work.
Make sure that you engage a company that has a proven record, backed up by experience and expertise which can only be achieved through a long and successful trading history. With Britannia Preservation you and your home are in safe hands.
The PCA Promise is a warranty that covers timber treatments, damp-proofing, structural waterproofing, and structural maintenance works for domestic premises where the contract price is between £250 and £50,000 including VAT. This warranty is offered free of charge, in addition to a client’s statutory rights, and provides the customer with a failsafe in the event of a PCA member ceasing to trade. Specifically, in the event that Britannia Preservation fails to commence or to complete a contract because they have ceased to trade due to liquidation, receivership, administration, or the winding up of the business through bankruptcy or death of the principal, the PCA will take the following action:
a) arrange for another PCA contractor to complete the contract with the customer paying the remaining balance of the original contract price less the amount of deposit and/or stage payments that were paid to the original contractor or;
b) provide a PCA voucher to the value of the amount of deposit and/or stage payments already made. This voucher will be accepted by any other PCA member contractor as payment against a new contract.*
*The maximum liability in respect of any one contract shall not exceed 25% of the original contract price or £10,000, whichever is lower.
